Cleaning your closet regularly has many benefits than it may seem. First, it is relaxing. Second, how many times did you try to find something in your closet and had been unsuccessful? If plenty of times already, cleaning your closet will help. Also, you can now have more space if you can organize it. Also, you can look at your clothes and remember that you have them in case you need them. Well, to have an organized closet, here are some tips on where you should put your stuff correctly.

On the top shelf, you can put you bed sheets and bath towels. Here, top shelf is the shelf right after the ceiling, and is too high. Since it is not that accessible you can put the things you rarely need like the bed sheets, curtains or bath towels. You can also place your luggage here.

On the second shelf (or the eye-level shelf) up to the knee-level shelf, you can put your folded clothes. This includes your sleep wear, casual clothes and some folded formal clothes. You can arrange them by color and by kind. The word “and” is used since you have to sort your clothes first by kind and then arrange them by color.

On the rack, you should hang your pants, slacks, trousers, dresses, skirts and other formal clothes. Ideally, clothes that are crisply ironed should be hung on clothes hangers so that it will not get wrinkled easily. Remember, you should not put too much clothes in the rack. Overcrowded hung clothes will tend to wrinkle, so be aware of that.

In the drawers, you should put little clothing items like underwear, handkerchief, face towels, and socks. For women, brassieres are not meant to be not folded. Folding it will cause the shape to lose, so just put it in the drawer without folding it, but arranging it. Make sure to put these little clothing items in the drawers by kind.

On the closet door, you can screw some hooks so that it can be useful. On these hooks, you can hang your hats, belts, even bags if you do not have a lot. However, this is not applicable to sliding closet doors. Make sure that the hook and what it is holding will not bump with the contents of the closet. If your closet door is delicate and you do not want to put holes on them, try using the hooks with adhesive stickers.

So, those are some tips as to how you can organize your closet. Remember to check your clothes and remove what you think you will not need. You can donate it or you can sell it though garage sale. If you remove them you can have some space for your new clothes. Amp up your closet as this will not just make it look cleaner and bigger, it will also help you save your precious time as well.
