Minimalism is popularly used by interior decorators nowadays. It has been a theme since 1970’s and people still like it because of its simplicity. However, problem occurs when your home is filled with a lot of things. Also, it is a problem if your home has a tight space that it cannot accommodate that minimalist style. Organizing will be the key in improving that tight space. Organizing will not just make your home seem larger, it will also simplify your daily living. So, here are some tips in making your tight space work with minimalism and organizing your home at the same time.

Avoid buying things that you actually do not need or you already have. Since you have a tight space, adding things especially furniture will never make your home bigger. Unless, you are using what you bought to replace a thing that you will dispose. Of course, if you will replace something make sure that it is better and will occupy the same (if not less) space as the one you replaced it with.

Think of what you want your home to look like. With this in mind, picture the arrangement of your existing furniture imitating the look on your mind. Remember that you should utilize what you already have including the space and the existing furniture.

In creating that minimalist look, bear in mind that the lesser, the better. So, scatter your decorations. Leave only one (at most three) decoration in every table. And, if you still have a lot, put it somewhere else. Do not forget to match the pieces together.

Play with only three colors in every room. It can be black, white and red, or beige, white and green. In these color schemes, remember that red and green are just needed to add life. It should just pop out in little items. It can also work with one color but different shades.

Lastly, put everything else inside storage boxes, drawers, or cabinets. Maximize your storage space. Put small items in small boxes or drawers, medium items to large drawers and large items to cabinets. Make sure to group them accordingly. It will also be great if your storage boxes will fit in your cabinet, because the minimalist theme will just work if there is less visible stuff.

With these tips in mind, you can make your home more relaxing and comfortable. Remember that your personality should still be reflected in your home. Hence, put the pieces the way you wanted it to be.
