Dirty bottles
Fill the bottles or vessels halfway with hot water. Add a few drops of liquid dish-washing soap, two tablespoons of white vinegar, and a cup of uncooked rice. Swirl the mixture for a few minutes. This eliminates the dirt. Rinse well with hot water and air-dry. Dry Cutting Board Restore your cutting board by heating a bottle of pure mineral oil in a bowl of hot water. Wipe the oil on the surface of your board using a soft cloth. Remove excess oil after four to six hours. Dusty Chandelier Moisten a cotton cloth using a glass cleaner. For crystals, use a mixture of rubbing alcohol and distilled water. Wipe each prism with the damp cloth and then dry using another cloth. You can also use cotton gloves. Flattened Pillows Place them in the sun for a few hours. Avoid leaving them out too long because it can fade the fabric. Rub the mixture into the stain using a soft cloth or your fingers. Leave for thirty minutes and then rinse with water. Stuck Sliding Doors and Windows Use a small amount of silicone spray lubricant, which can be bought at hardware stores, to lubricate the sliding area. Squirt it on a cloth then wipe along the tracks. This can be used for metal, wood, or plastic. Tangled Extension Cords Arrange extension cords inside a large plastic bucket when they’re not in use.
