When the high heat of summer is up, you better not be in a place where the air conditioning is dry. At these time our air conditioner are working harder and long that usual and you should think of ways to make it work in shape so you wouldn't suffer a hot summer day. It is best practice to have your conditioner be checked at least twice a year of more depending on the workload you're giving it. Leave the checking to the professionals and follow their advice on the thing that should be done like when a general cleaning for you machine is required. A general cleaning usually needs to take the whole unit out, and do the necessary measure with industrial soap and high pressure water. Let the experts do these. But now everything must be left for the aircon techs, because there are also simple maintenance works so your air condition units will be at it optimum performance in between the general cleaning. You can perform an air conditioner check every 2 to 3 weeks. The first thing you need in a DIY aircon check is safety. Make sure that the unit is unplugged so you won't have to go through the unnecessary electrocutions. If it doesn't have a power plug, you can disable it electricity by turning off it's power at the switch breakers. The first thing in line is dealing with its front grille. This part can be removed by unscrewing unfastening from you unit. You can clear the dust build-up on it with a damp clothe or by cleaning with running water and a soft brush. Next is the filter. You can get to the air filter by opening the front grille . The filters are usually made from plastic or metal frame with a mesh or screen to basically filter large particle of dust away from the unit. This part is usually clogged with lots of dust and lints. Wearing a protective mask is advised when you are doing this. gently tap the filters to remove the dust and lint. The remaining dirt on the screen can be cleaned by a lukewarm water a mild detergent. You know what happens to paper when it get wet so a paper filter is not advised to be washed, a vacuum or blower will do trick. You can talk about...
